Poets on the Roof
Welcome to The Poets On The Roof, a website for the Stockton Poetry Workshop by that name. We previously met at the house of Patricia Mayorga. The group has gone through a variety of venues, originally starting with a Poetry Workshop by the name of The Breakfast Club at The Caffeine Den in 2003, as well as an open mic called Slam-or-State (S.O.S.) that was hosted there--we performed together and local readings and published together collaboratively. We had, before busy lives and the passing of many of our group slowed us down, a routine of discussing things conversationally and then writing a group poetry exercise (see Group Exercise Directions and Group Poetry Exercises.) We sometimes share other poems we have written and do other poetry exercises or share poetry homework that was assigned at the last meeting.
